Dear Mr. Sirius Black,

I read your advertisement for a new member in the Club of Wizardy on the notice board in front of my school yesterday. I send you this letter to apply for being a new member in your club.

I am a fifteen years-old boy and am currently studying in the Brilliant Class program. I am feel rather depressed now because there are a lot of subjects to be studied. I need entertainment between my boring days. I am only a usual boy, who has a dream to be a popular wizard. Therefore, I hope this club will help me a lot. Also, I am really interested in magic power. I have been studying the magic power since I was ten years old and I have already mastered the magic to lift up things and to open the locked door. As you know, I keep trying to say “Wingardium Lavio’sa” and “Alohomora”. To be honest, at first time I didn’t see anything happened. However, I kept on practicing and I did it!

I used to help the other people with my magic power every time I see they need my help. Just use a simple magic power and its effect will make people happy. From the time I master that magic, I feel really contented to help the others. However, I feel my magic is still weak and needs a lot of improvement. Hence, I really hope it will be helpful for me to join your club.

I would like to express you my deepest gratitude for reading this letter. Also, I’d be grateful if you would send me an application form and any other relevant information.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours sincerely,

Joses Grady Nathanael

Dear Sir/Madam,

Your advertisement about the singing club on the wall of my school a couple days ago was so interesting.

I am Natasia Yosua, a first high school student in SMAK Penabur Gading Serpong. One of my hobbies is music, and many people say that I have a talent in singing. I know many songs from all over the world, either the 70's songs, nor the newest songs released, although I don't have enough knowledge about the Dangdut songs.

I join in one of the bands in my school, and I follow music and singing courses. I am able to sing the traditional songs and still have a big desire to learn singing other songs from different cultures.

Related to my interest, I would like to ask you about the details of this group, the form, and also the criteria to become one of the members.

I would like to express my gratitude for your attention.

Yours faithfully,
Natasia Yosua Yahya.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I recently saw your billboard at the street near my workplace, and I am very interested to be a member.

I am twenty one year old and I have a pet 3 months old scottish-fold cat, Ben. I really love him, but since I was promoted to a manager at my work, I have more jobs and meetings to attend and I come home very late in the night.

Leaving Ben alone in the house for such a long time worries me, that I could not concentrate at work.

So I would like to be a member of Diddy-Cat Community which has got a Cat-Daycare where I could entrust Ben to.

I should be grateful if you would send me an application form, the price list and any other relevant details.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Dear Sir / Madam,

I was very interested to read tour advertisement to play musics and sing on the notice-board in the public library yesterday.

I am fifteen years old and I am studying in Brilliant Class now, and i am on the tenth grade now starting from 16th June 2008. I am quite good at singing and have got some achievements from singing in Citraland, and in Mc.Donald, even though I am a boy my voice is not too bad to be a singer.

I used to sing everyday and used to be a singer in a religious service and in a wedding ceremony. I have showed my voice in front of many people, I am a little bit shy at first, but after more shows, I am starting to get used of it. I sing everywhere, in my room, in the spare time, and even in the bathroom. That’s the reason I am quite experienced and skilled in singing and playing music, even though I can’t play piano very well, but I can make the notes by myself to make some songs. Many people said that I am quite talented with music.

I should be grateful and glad if you would send me an application form to join this group and any other relevant details. And you can contact me back when you receive this letter at 021-5671427. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

It is amusing to read Joses' interesting reason, how Viciano found the advertisement, and the two dogs Lilie has. One big and one cute. Ho ho ...

Finally, besides all of you need to re-read your work for spelling-check, try to do some paragraphing, such as those of Sam, Ilona, Kevin and Evan's works.

Anyway, have a great fun in Puncak for a brief retreat. Don't forget to submit your summary on one of the 3 online magazine, i.e. Monday, April 27, 2009.

The article, which has title: “Up on the Roof”, tells us that the roofscape of every city on this planet is a man-made desert. Then, this article shows a picture of the roof of the Vancouver Public Library at Library Square. At the top, there are a lot of plants, planted into a special mix of soil. As we know, this method isn’t new. But, recently, the architects try to make it for mitigating the environmental extremes. By doing this on the roof, it will naturalize the cities and make them more livable. Also, a habitat which is being lost, can redevelopment. Because the living roofs are habitable. The main goal of this method is to build living roofs that are useful for environmental life and low in costs. Let us support them!

Summary:
In the last 20 years, Brazil lost their 20% of forest because of illegal logging. Corruption and environmental crimes in the Amazon are the reasons. Although Amazon is the heart of world’s forest, United Nations couldn’t do anything, because of it. There were many volunteers who tried to help Brazil from all over the worlds. The quality of land there was decreasing by time. The citizens beefed about that, they couldn’t plant any plants. Satellite shows that in many frontier zones there is nearly zero compliance.

Believe it or not, monkeys use baby talk—like talking with a raised pitch and swooping, sing-song style—when speaking to their babies. Study finds that Puerto Rico’s female rhesus monkey moms interact with the offspring just the way human mothers do. One special monkey sound, “girney”, seems particularly designed for infant ears. "When infants are around they use a lot more, and they also do other things like wag their tails to the babies—which they don't do in other circumstances," said Maestripieri, associate professor from University of Chicago. From this discovery scientists believe that baby talk has a useful biological evolutionary origin.

Recipe for a ressurection

Nowadays, scientists are trying to make a baby mammoth. They said that to make the embryo isn’t a difficult job. They just need to compare the chromosomes with mammoth’s relatives, such as elephants, or others. Now, scientists have done making the DNA and chromosome structure. They said that now, money and time. They don’t worry about technical problems anymore. The scientists have enough strategy to build gene information. One more problem that they face is about the ethic for the environment. Is it ok to resurrect humans? (because, if you can raise a mammoth, means you can raise people too). It is still in doubt.

Health Benefits of Coffee

Coffee can decrease our risk for some serious disease, such as gallstones, Parkinson, breast and colon cancer, because coffee has so many compounds that is good for our body, like antioxidant. And in some research, they found that coffee is richer antioxidant than raspberry, blueberry, and pineapples.
Coffee also help us to be calmer, it is proved by some researcher that a sleepless rat was calmer after inhaled by roasted coffee beans.
The dosage for coffee consumption is depends on the consumer, for dietitians, it is recommended to drink one or two cups of coffee a day, without milk, whipped cream, and sugar.

Mom vs. Steroids
Reader's Digest - January 2006
summary by: Natasia Yosua

When Lori Lewis, a mom of a Colleyville high school football athlete, Bryan Dyer, found steroids in her son’s closet, she got mad and directly told the school about the drugs using in the school team. In fact, across America, between 1991 and 2003, over 41,000 Texas 7th- through 12th-graders said they had used the drugs to be stronger, bigger, and faster as the athletes. Initially, the school didn’t believe what Lewis said, but with her willing to save the life of somebody, somewhere, who used those dangerous illegal drugs, she got some supporters and finally the school approved the drug testing. Bryan Dyer then is a star in other school’s football team without steroids.

http://www.rd.com/living-healthy/three-quick-steps-to-healthier-skin/article15497.html

There are three quick steps to healthier our skins. First step is drinking at least eight ounce glasses of water a day. Water can help our kidney to flush toxins. Second step is following a healthy diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and fish. Food high in saturated fat can cause our skin wrinkling. And the last step is protecting your skin from the sun with sunblock. The sun is at its most damaging between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. The sun still damaging our skins although is in winter. Your skins can be healthier if you do the steps.

Lack of sleep is bad for our health. It can increase the risk of diabetes, which can cause brain damage. That’s one of many reasons why we must sleep in enough time. Here’s some way to sleep tide.
First, figure out your body cycle. If we sleep in different time from our usual time, it will be harder for us to sleep.
Second, switch your pillow, to make us more comfortable to sleep.
Third, don’t let your cat or dog inside your bedroom. Their snore can disturb our sleep.
Fourth, eat a banana before bed. Banana contains melatonin, the sleep hormone.
Beside of these 4 ways, there are still many ways to sleep tide.

Wow! 14 postings by 11p.m. today for online magazine summary assignment!

What a pleasure reading Natasia's brief and strong summary of "Mom vs. Steroids"! Thanks, Laurensia, for your tips on sleeping tight for those suffering from diabetes, like me. Got to sleep now, already 11p.m. something. Good for our liver cleansing, eh?

Thanks for quoting sources, guys, such as Johan's, Hans' and James'. Wow, reading 8 online pages, and came up with around 100-word summary. GREAT!

I'll check them up. It's going to be my HOMEWORK for 2 weeks, guys. There will be a change of schedule for May 5th, I guess, with me leaving for British International School for a 2nd visit by BPK PENABUR Jakarta, this time with SMPK 7.

P.S. Thanks, guys, for avoiding being plagiarists. As a results, I found some grammatical errors, but it's allright. We're working it out tomorrow. Good nite! Sleep tide, ooops, sleep tight!

Dear Sir Teguh, this is my task, please spare my life for being really late, hehehe. This is my summary and the main article is taken from:

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124111479379073855.htmlSummary:
Since the invention of automobile, people, that are popular with their fantasies, have been dreaming about sky that crowded with flying cars, some kind of sky highway. Lot of design and calculation have been suggested, even few of them have proven the successful of their model, such as AFA Sokol A400, designed by AFA from California. Even though this model is still being under engineering phase, but provided with Chevy Corvette engine, capable of reaching speeds of 100MPH, foldable wings, and vertical stabilizer, this car surely will take you fly in the sky. Not only car that have wings, but also motorcycle, for example Samson SkyBike.
