Batik
There are four people, exactly eight hands, doing the same art activities. One hand holds a white smooth canvas that has been drawn with a cute thing before, put on a small wooden board in order to make it stable. The other one holds a small painting tool like a pen, called canting. So, it must be making a batik, an old traditional cloth comes from Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Making this cloth needs wax as a main material, melted in a small bowl like in the center of the picture. Canting is used to take the wax and paint into the canvas.

There is a cool fashionable old man sits on a small blue chair. He is wearing a dark blue western-style shirt with a black tie covered by small white dots and smooth black trousers. He seems very serious at looking his laptop with his embedded silver mouse which put on a wretched table. I assume that because there are many things that useless, but put on there. Manchester United sticker covers the main frame, so that I think he is a fan of MU football team. He’s working on a class so that he must be a good looking teacher.
From the outside, a busy airport is the same like many public places, such as restaurants or etc. There are simply green gardens with many trees planted on them and also grasses that have been cut off into cute shape things. In the middle of the gardens, there is a good – looking fountain.
But if we walk closer, we can see the different. Many taxies come and go, only to fulfill the request, carry or pick up the people. Not only the drivers, but also the airport staffs are so busy because of the passengers. They are carrying many black big heavy suitcases; go inside and outside the airport.
In the airport, we can see so many people, from young to old, common until businessman; take care of their business with a heavy hand. There are a single long straight queue line at every place that sells plane tickets, like Lion Air, Mandala Airlines, and etc. People who have bought tickets, sit on the long blue seats in the waiting room and doing something like using their laptops for browsing or eating the food that they have bought in the restaurant near the airport, like Mc`Donalds. It seems practice and simple.
Not only that, but also there are people who only looking for arrival schedule and waiting for someone, maybe who comes from other country. In essentials, all the people who are relax, can’t get what they want.
1)a)Brilliant class’ students are not only smart in study about academics as a lot of people think. They are also good in art. They learn about vocal art, instrumental art, and “batik” art. In the picture, they were taking the “batik” lesson. Batik is Indonesian (Javanese) traditional art, which is a wax-resist dyeing technique used on textile (quoted from Wikipedia). The students were melting the wax, and then applying the wax to the pattern on the clothes. The beauty of the clothes depends on how nice we choose the color combination and how pretty the pattern drawn.
1)b)The students are taking an English lesson. They were being taught by a native speaker from USA, who was very good in teaching. In the picture, the students were learning about how to speak fluently and full of expressions. The teacher gave them some conversation topics and then the students make the conversation between them, and then they do the conversation in front of the teacher, as natural as possible, as if they were not in the lessons and the teacher was not there. It looked like they were having a normal conversation.
2)a)The airport looks really calm from the outside, but if you go to the airport and then get in there, you will feel a great difference. The inside of the airport is very loud because the airport is usually busy. There are a lot of people that preparing for departure and waiting for arrival, so the airport is very crowded. Even tough there are air conditioner almost in every room; the temperature in airport when it is busy is hot and sultry due to the very big crowds. And maybe you can even smell the unpleasant scent of sweat, because a lot of people are sweating because the room is hot, and because of they are always moving around. The airport will be very noisy, because a lot of busy people are talking and walking here and there and there are the sounds of the taking off or landing airplane that are very loud even from far away. Even though the airport is large, if it is busy, you will feel as if the airport is very small, because the airport is full of people. Your walking path will be very narrow; you have to walk slowly to avoid crash with other people.

1.a.When I just had took a glance on the picture, one sentence popped in my mind, “This boy looks so sweet!” Wearing blue jeans and a white collared shirt with red stripe and the uppermost button of the shirt hasped, he becomes so plain and innocence. The smile on his face makes me want to pinch his cute cheeks. His healthy black hair along with his slanting eyes makes him looking very amiable. He is holding a small blue note in his right hand, sitting on a green colored school chair, with joy and great enthusiasm explaining something to someone in front of him.
1.b.The scent of the room must be full with the aroma of melted wax. I can see two young handsome guys wearing glasses whole hearty crafting a piece of art. With a bamboo water scoop, they carefully carve a masterpiece on a 30 cm x 30 cm cotton cloth. Before they carved the wax on the cloth, I am sure they had portrayed the masterpiece they want to yield, and then sketched them beautifully with pencil. One of the students made a great pattern of gorgeous flowers. It must be an exciting experience to learn how to make batik, a historic culture of our beloved country, Indonesia.
2.a. It is not my first time entering this huge and amazing airport. I’ve been here for many times with my beloved family, although now I am alone waiting for my delayed plane heading home. I usually like to observe the magnificent paintings hanging on the wooden walls, however I am feeling too tired at the moment to wander pointlessly around the gigantic airport. So here I am now, sitting comfortably on a cozy blue chair in the third row of ten rows of chairs, in the middle of flowing activities around me, feeling like a watchfully spectator waiting for something surprising to be happening. There is not much to see in this small although nice waiting room, however, outside, through the wide windows I could see many workers busy with their own duties, in the heavy rain. It feels wrong that I am inside sheltering myself in peace and warmth seeing them struggling in the harsh storm. One thing comforted me deeply. I saw a five year old boy, from the bottom of his heart singing a dulcet lullaby for his little sister. Their mother looked tenderly with full of love at both of them while holding her daughter in her warm hands. I could feel the enchanting love surrounding them and I wished to be home with my family as fast as possible.

1.In the picture three, there is a man who is acting some movement. I think he is doing that because he is ordered by teacher. He is acting like a teacher who teaches the students. I think, he is a bit nervous to act like that. He teaches a music class because he acts like a conductor who leads an orchestra. Maybe, he never has been a teacher before but he acts like a real teacher. So, he would be a good teacher next time. Maybe, the teacher makes that test to be scored for the report card. I think he will get good mark for his act.
In the picture six, there are some men who are doing art. The art is called batik. Batik is a traditional Indonesian art. They must draw some patterns on the material or draw directly. I think they still learn to do batik. I think for beginner like them, they are doing batik so well. They use a tool called canting. They use canting to draw on the material. Canting is used to put wax to the material. So they must be careful because the wax is so hot. Behind them, there is a boy who is playing with laptop. Maybe he is not a student of the art class.
2. Airport is a big place for people who want to go somewhere by airplane. Airport is a noisy and busy place; there are many kinds of airplane and people. For a big airport such that Changi, many people from other countries transit on Changi Airport. For businessmen, airport is an important place for them. Airport is a facility for them to work. At airport, they can do their job because airport is a modern place. They can call their job partners and make some appointment while they wait for plane. There are some cozy places for wait such that restaurants, book store, etc.
For people who love travelling, airport is just on of their facility to travel around the world. At airport, we can see much kind of characteristics. There are some friendly people who like to talk each other with someone else. There are selfish people who sit and open their laptop because they do their work and there are some who like reading books. Airport is one of the safest places. People who enter airport must walk through a metal detector. The detector used to detect if there is a danger things in the bags. At airport, we can meet with other people form other countries.

Batik
There are two serious people on that picture is drawing some kind of lines and dots in a cloth. There is also a small metal bowl on a fire that contains some yellow liquid, made from “malam”, a kind of wax. They pour the liquid to their cloth from a small pipe that has a small hole on its tip. They work carelessly so the liquid scattered all around the table. The “batik” that they made also has not done and there are a lot of blank spaces in their cloth, but their outstanding effort must be getting an appreciation.

A man is on the picture. He is fat but not too old. His head is bald and wearing a sky-color shirt with dotted tie turns in his neck. He has a pointed nose, white color skin, and unique eyes that show that he is possibly from a western country. He is sitting in the blue small chair and working on a white color table. In his messy table there are papers, twisting cable and a laptop. His laptop is red because of the sticker that stick on the cover of its. He is seeing with a full concentration to his laptop, confused with what he will do.
Airport
Airport is the big place where people can start their trip to other far place. With green plants decorated in the outside and glass-walled that separated the inside part from the outside, the airport’s outer part also built with the complex structure and based on great architectural computation. Covered by white paint, some of the concrete wall is like a very strong steel wall. In front of the entrance, many people take their bags and walking toward the entrance, they are seen happy and anxious about their pleasant trip. One time, a red-dressed 30 years old woman came out from his car, fall when she takes her baggage, and go inside immediately.
Moving to the inside, there are a lot of 1-metre-high checks in table, with a glowing signboard. In that signboard is written the name of those airlines. There is a big board that shows a schedule of airline. There, a same red-dressed woman is looking carefully to the board. Then she go to check and place her baggage in elegant moving belt, let her bag go to the somewhere inside. In her walk to the waiting room, there are a lot of small store that sell food and drinks. Arrived in the air-conditioner waiting room, she sits on a 3-leg green chair and watching television that located above her. At the time she was called, she leaves her chair then walked classy to the entrance.

There is an old man wearing a blue shirt. He is a hairless person (bald), and looking from his face, looks like he is a European. It seems that he is looking something seriously on his laptop. On the back of the laptop, there is a red Manchester United sticker, suppose he is a fan of Manchester United. By looking on the room, a white board and some tables let me to conclude that it is a class and he is the teacher of the class.
Batik
In the picture, some people are making arts. They are drawing something with a brown-colored-dye. The aqueous dye (made from wax) seemed to be heated above a stove. They are using something like a bamboo water scoop to pick up the dye from the hot stove and creating some unique motives on white clothes their holding. Two people, wearing white shirt uniforms and glasses, are working on their work seriously. They are making a table goes dirty with brown color because the dye they are using is spreading everywhere on the table. It seems that they are doing the arts for their school marks.

There are no such places as crowded as an airport is, in a full 24 hours a day we could see many people are arriving and leaving the airport. Facilitated with large parking area, an airport makes travel become easier. We could feel the crowded and busy atmosphere when we first arrive in the airport, especially in high season when people are going on vacation. Many people from different country and places are queuing in a neat straight line, sitting and talking to each other, running to catch the on boarding plane while bringing heavy bags and suitcases, eating, etc, all are doing in a huge white-painted building named airport. We could also see a short black-haired person, the one with blue eyes, the tall one speaking French, red-haired one, one with a very dark skin, etc, people from every culture are gathering in this busy place to do their travel. The loud sound of a big taking-off plane is dominating the airport in almost every quarter of hour. Inside a cool waiting room, we could see many people are watching a modern flat television while waiting for their boarding. Phew, so many things are happening in airport.

-Batik
The table is covered by drops of wax like water rainfall on the earth. The students surrounding the table seem like trying to cover the things -liquid wax which placed in the bowl that heated by the electric stove- that placed on the center of the table. Each of them hold a “canting”, tools which used to take the liquid wax and placed the wax in the vessel which has a variety size of hole to pour out the liquid wax. The other hand holds a kind of special fabric. Guided by lines on the fabric, they cover the lines with the wax and let it freeze by the air.

The picture was taken in a classroom. There was a table, chair, and a boy. The boy in the picture was standing behind the green chair. He wore a black jacket, looked like the room was cold. The airports, big place which very busy everyday, serve the people who want to doing their jobs or going on vacation. If we go to an airport, we just can go around the waiting room and boarding room. Because of this, usually airport is full of passengers that located in the waiting room and boarding room only. This situation makes the airport very busy everyday because the amount of the passengers is much greater than the employees whose can serve a huge amount of passengers.
Many people bring some big heavy bags on their shoulders or hands. We can see some fussy face because the passengers must put down their belongings to pass the check gate. Many people also looked bustle because they must pick the bags in the crowded and sultry situation and also narrow place to step on. After passing this gate, the passengers also must make a long and tight queue to check-in their tickets. They can take a light breath after check in the ticket because they can put their belongings in the baggage. After this, they can make some rest for their feet because they can go to the waiting room which serves them plenty of quite comfortable chairs. In the waiting room, the situation is much better because it is not as tight as at the boarding room.

Batik
In the picture, there are four people wearing school uniform, making hand-writing Batik. Batik is a kind of traditional clothe from Java, Indonesia. This clothe is used to make suits and pants. In that picture, the process of making Batik is on waxing stage. They use liquid wax and ‘canting’ to wax the sketch. Canting is a device made from bamboo and it is like a pencil to write on. They are using thick paper or newspaper, to prevent the clothes from wax spilling. They are also using stove to makes wax stay liquid. Waxing the batik needs much patient, because if we don’t patient, the picture of the batik will unclear.

There is a thin boy, sitting in a turquoise chair behind a desk after the door. The boy was wearing white-red stripe shirt with his top button of shirt was attached and a blue jeans. He is holding a blue notebook and trying to explain something to his friend or his teacher. There are a piece of paper on the desk, which I believe he wrote his little note on it. His old fashioned hair make him looks like bookworm but cute. It supposed to be a meeting room or something like that, because there are many chairs in the background of the picture.
Flight Attendant
The hand of clock has just point out 4 o’clock in the morning, but the flower fragrance has already emerge from the bathroom. Her soft and neat uniform has already attach in her slim tall body. Although her height has more than 180 cm, she still using high heels. As usual, her dark-brown short hair has been combed, makes her appearance more beautiful. As a flight attendant, her appearance is very important. She meet many people during her day. Because of the crowded flight schedule of her company, she has to wake up early in the morning. Although there is person who picking flight attendants up, the distance of her house still cause her wake up early. After she arrive at airport, she must immediately go to the plane, to prepare everything. In every flight, she must inform the passengers the safety procedure. Her fluent English promote her to be the chief of the flight attendants. After the complete take off, she with her partners serve the hungry passengers with foods and beverages. The point of her job is to make the passengers feel comfortable during the flight. After the first flight ended, the second and the next flight are waiting for her attendance.

Batik
The three peoples are making batik. Batik is a traditional art from Indonesia. To make batik, they use “canting” and wax called “malam”. “Canting” is a bamboo water scoop that is used for putting the wax onto a fabric for batik, following the pattern of motif that is made. Before ‘malam’ is used, they melt it first with a little electric stove. I think that they are not really expert in putting the wax because the table that was covered with newspaper is in a mess. I also think that the one who is holding a laptop is expert in making batik because when the other is busy with their batik, he is relaxing.

There is a cute boy, about 15 year old, sitting inside a room. The room is like in a high school, and he is studying with casual clothes. He is wearing blue jeans and white collared shirt with red stripes. He is holding a little blue notebook. It is a little odd that he comes to school, because usually when it is schooldays, a high school student wears uniform. He seems like he wants to explain something to his friend and he needs a paper, so he is asking his friend for a piece of paper and returning the notebook.
Flight Attendant
My Aunt was a flight attendance. She works for Garuda Indonesia, a large flight company in Indonesia. She said that flight attendance is a tiring but exciting job. Every day she has to wake up early in the morning, go to the busy Soekarno Hatta Airport, and prepare for the flight. She checked every menu that her lazy or sick friend abandons. She also told me that she helped the handsome pilot, which is her husband, to prepare his uniform in the morning.
In flight, she demonstrates the safety guide. When she finished, she gives her friends the instruction to distribute DVD players and drinks. Then, my aunt and her friends distribute the tiny amounted meal. After having a short chat, they went around to collect the finished meal and give the passengers drinks. Sometimes there is an annoying passenger that always complains.
When they landed in the other country’s international airport, she helped the passengers to deplane. Then, she and her friends start to tidy up the messy plane. When they were finished, they went inside the airport, take their luggage and stay for a moment in the airport before the next flight. And then, the same routine repeated again. Now, she has retired with five awards for the best flight attendance from different country.

There are three people are painting on a cloth/ fabric. They use a small bamboo water scoop, a painting tool use for apply wax in batik process. In the middle, there is a small wide-mouthed clay pot and gas burner for heating the paraffin. Almost all of the people use a framed glass when doing the batik. They are using an old newspaper for the base under the cloth due to avoid the hot paraffin. They make a traditional and modern design with pencil, and put the liquid wax on it. This process needs a diligence and carefulness.

There is a very short blonde hair man sitting on a dark blue chair, wearing a blue shirt combine with polka dot green tie. With bent body and serious face, he is looking in the red-yellow laptop. Beside laptop, there are many things on the table too, such as pink paper, pointer usually called mouse, blue CD package, black clear holder, etc. There is a white board on the wall, just like in a classroom. There is a table with a camera on it, near the chair. He already works for a long time though, that makes his table extremely messy.
Airport
It was a noisy airport where many people come and go to have a travel with planes. There is a clear voice from the operator which told us much information about the flight. This place called terminal, the most crowded one because everybody including taxi attendants, driver, and obviously the passenger can be standing there. Passenger who wants to take a travel with a plane must be going through a standard process called check in. After get a ticket, passenger moves to large room before enters the plane. There are so many waiting rooms in one terminal but each flight has its own gate. Inside the waiting room, people usually waiting while eat their delicious food, or enjoy their tasty soda. Passengers who travel overseas have to follow some official checking called immigration process. Immigration employee will check your passport for identifying every person who are in or out from those countries. In an airport, there is a free-tax shop, usually named Duty Free. People from another country can buy some traditional souvenirs without pay any tax. Many tourists spent their free time before the flight in this shop. This great airport has many busy places, not just the employee, but also the passengers, tourists, etc.

One morning in a huge-modern-busy international airport, there are so many people who look very busy with their activity. There are ticket lockets in one side of airport and food stores, taxi rental, hotel agent, etc in the other side. The elevator seems like never stop work by carrying people up and down. Sometimes, it looks like a modern market. In one corner, there is a tall career woman with creamy hair covered by a black hat. She wears a white high class blouse with grey blazer and a black short skirt which make her looks like a teller-woman in a bank. She is holding a blue travel bag on the right hand and a white hand bag in the other hand while queuing in JAL ticket check-in locket. She is standing in the second row next to a very fat man wears blue shirt with a very big-black travel bag like his body who is in the first queue. The man is registering his ticket to an airport officer, but he is speaking to someone in hand phone and seems busy with his own business. It makes the registering process slow and the woman looks fury and panic. She keeps her blushed eyes on her luxurious gold watch like the end of the world will become closer if she does not keep looking on her watch.

PHOTO DESCRIPTION
In one of those pictures, I saw a young boy wears a white collared shirt with a red strip on his chest in an English class. He has an innocent baby faced and old-fashioned-black hair which make him looks like a junior high student instead of a senior high student. He is sitting in a green-metallic chair in front of the class and holding a blue book on his right hand while speaking for the English test. In front of him, there is a white-wooden table with a piece of paper on it. In the backside, there is a grey-metal door and some grey chairs.
In the other picture, I saw 3 students of Brilliant Class who are holding a small brown water bamboo scoop which known as Canting in Indonesia and a piece of cloth. In front of them, there is a metallic bowl of redolent-melted wax on an electric stove in which the students take the wax and cover their white piece of cloth in the motif drawn using the water bamboo scoop. To cover the table from splashing wax, they use few sheets of old newspaper. In the backside, there is another student who is working with metallic-grey laptop.

Atmosphere of a busy airport
It is a noisy and crowded building where many people bring luggage varies from a little one until the big one. Some people not only bring one or two bags, they bring more than two bags, indicating that they are going to stay for a long time at a place. There are many kiosks there. The kiosks sell many beautiful souvenirs. There are food kiosks, book store, etc. It looks like a mall. But when we look out the window, there are many big planes departing and taking off from the field outside the building, so we know that place is an airport and that is the busy one. From the mall-like place, we can find some counters. Many people are queuing there. They are doing some process there, check in. After that, the passengers go into the waiting room. The waiting room is a cool room with many comfort chairs. Passengers can access to the broadband connection there. There is an executive lounge too. The executive lounge is a waiting room for some people. The official waiters frequently give some announcement about the flight schedule. The passengers usually read a novel, eating delicious snacks, etc. while waiting for their flight.

Batik Printing Picture
There are at least three people in the picture who are doing Batik printing. From their uniform, looks like they are High School students who learn that in the art class. They seems to be using the traditional method to produce their painting by using the bamboo water scoop and a pot of "malam" that placed on the gas stove. From the picture, we could see that they are making the form they want and placed the brown fluid on the line. The form of those Batik are very various, such as flowers, lines, shapes, and other precious artistic shapes.
Speaking Test Picture
In the picture, there is a young blacked hair man with the eyeglasses and red black sleeves shirt who are trying to explain or present something to the audiences before him. Seems like he is doing it in the classroom since there were some blue chairs and white wooden table. We could think that he is already prepared his presentation and quite confident of himself just by looking from his face expressions and his body language. But he is looking a little bit nervous for presenting in front of the class with his friends and teacher are looking at him seriously.
Busy Airport
There is a huge International airport’s waiting room with peoples are walking around, bringing their big wheeled traveling bags. There is no empty chair and almost no empty space among them; peoples are only about 50 centimeters in distance. Some of them go with their entire family, some of them go with their couple, and some of them only go by themselves, maybe for business. The old Chinese handyman looking wrinkled because so many people walking around. The big American officer standing beside the gate with their scary face that seems like they want to eat you. There are experienced looking pilots and pretty neat stewardesses with their blue caps, attractive uniform, and same small traveling bags besides them, going through the gate heading for their plane. The teller that serving the passengers looking so busy with about their passengers queuing for about 5 meters long. And there are approximately 20 rows of it with different background destinations passengers from all around the world. The big rectangular black flight list filled with many different countries as the departing country. Almost all the busy luxurious large International airport in the big cities has the condition like this all day and night.

In the picture, there are two people who are painting some patterns on clothes. This clothes painting is an Indonesian traditional art, called “Batik”. The clothes are popular in either Indonesia or abroad countries. In the picture, they seem so serious in doing it. They paint it with a small tool, called “canting”. “Canting” is a special tool looked like a small pen. It is a writing tool using melted wax as ink. In the picture, there is a small stove, used for melting the wax for painting. After painting the patterns in the clothes, they will soak it in color ink. Then, they just need to clean the wax, and beautiful clothes are produced.
In the picture, there is a middle aged man, who is sitting at his desk. He is wearing formal clothes: a blue shirt with a blue tie on it. He is a teacher. I think he is an English teacher, because, in the picture, he looked like a native speaker of English. He is bald, white, and a bit fat. But, he has neither mustache nor beard. In the picture, he seems so serious, looking in his small red laptop, which has a Manchester United sticker sticking on it. He is so cool when he is staring at something at that way.
Airport is a place, usually quite big, for plane to land or to fly. It is like a huge bus-stop for plane. An airport is usually located it a strategic, easy-reached, but, a “rural” place. It is usually located at a “rural” place because an airport needs a really wide area which is an empty space which a plane needs to land or to take off. The track that the plane uses to land or to take off is usually very long, but narrow track. In an airport, there are many places. There are a lot of place to buy plane tickets, to order taxis, some famous restaurants, like KFC, Dunkin-Donuts, etc, and some interesting souvenirs counters. The counters sell many kinds of souvenirs, from a large one like statue, until a small one like key holder. They also sell many colorful clothes. The souvenirs they sell are usually special souvenirs that marking the characteristic of the place the airport is. An airport is always crowded. Usually, there are more than thousands people who are in either departure or arrival. Even sometimes, there are a very many long lines of people that are queuing for the tickets check in.
